Star Wars, original and prequel trilogies. Yep, that's right. The prequels are hot. Everyone's either blinded by nostalgia, or following the elitist herd-mentality of "can't compare to the originals" if they say the prequels are junk. I can see preferring the originals to the prequels, but over-stating a dislike for (at the very least)decent movies, by acting like they are baby cancer, shows a lack of concern for having one's opinion taken seriously.
Kind of like Mario Sunshine and the numerous times it's been called garbage. If Sunshine and the SW prequels are "garbage", I'd hate to see what everyone thinks of a movie like Charlie's Angels or a game like the PlayStation's Phantom Menace. Jar Jar Binks is too childish and goofy??? Perhaps if he delivered a line like "Who's scruffy lookin", he'd get some respect and be considered the greatest character in Star Wars history. Personally, I hope Uncle Georgie make a pre-prequel, extravaganza of a magnum opus to the life, times, and comic mischief of Jar Jar, then buries the public in an advertisement and tie-in blitzkrieg the likes of which we have never seen!
Still, the LotR movies are great and considered among my favorites. But I can't help but to think...they could use a little Jar Jar.
