The BD advantage is going to give Sony the lead just like the DVD gave it to the PS2. heck, even if the next MS console does have a BD drive, they are going to have to pay Sony for the right to put it in their console, so its probably going to be a bit overpriced for what it offers.
The next console isn't going to be that great anyway, with MS's gimmik (and all consoles are gimmiky nothing against MS gaming) being HD-downloads. Oh wow, Your console can hold 2-3 HD movies before it runs out of space on the hard drive. And even then, the downloads are going to be more expensive than what Sony, a movie company, can offer the downloads for. So, what advantage will it have? Sony will be able to price MS's next console right out of the stores with both the downloads and the hardware so consider 2008 the dramatic rebirth of sony's gaming.
