Hello Guys!

I wanted to share my opinions about how an ideal console should be and I would be glad to see your comments and suggestions about it too.

For me, an ideal console should be

- Small and compact

- Silent (without any noisy fans or CDrom drives!)

- Inexpensive (that I wouldnt have to pay a fortune on it)

- Technologically Effiicient (meaning little little electric consumption, high system stability, no heating problems etc.)

And considering all this, I have prepared a comparative chart for all the prominent consoles. Because I have never used NES, Xbox360, PS3 and Wii myself, I just wrote my impressions based on what I have seen from friends and other people. Here is our table...

It seems like Nintendo produces the ideal consoles and MS has nowhere near it. The Price Criteria considers the Launch prices and Sega MS means Sega Master System (8 bit NES rival).

Edit : I just changed the table, readjusting the GC and N64 as objected.

I still don't get why the PS3 in't efficient, there's no heating problems, unless you put it in a very small totally enclosed space (so a hi-fi rack kinda thing is OK), no one has reported any serious problems with it stability wise, and although it uses more power than previous gens, and it can use up to 350W or whatever the PSu is, it normally uses well under 250V I think, which is half your average PC really. Also, the PS2 not cheap?!? You can get one brand new for like £80, which means it's probably the cheapest console in the UK ever! Also, I agree Dryden, the top loading consoles really increase the size, so having a fron loading disk drive effectively reduces the size.

One person's experience or opinion never shows the general consensus
