The difference in Blu-Ray cost is royalities... MS pays, Sony not... that increase by $4 the MS Blu-Ray.

MS uses a more expensive GDDR3... you have the model and specs... so the price is right... to fit a 256bits buss you need more modules to reach 8GB that is more expensive than the retail GDDR3 that uses less modules with bigger density (cheaper).

hmm thats how they calculate?

but the royalties are not only for sony. its a consortium. so sony has to pay its "blu ray partners"

but yeah. in that case it would make sense that ms has higher costs  for theire blu ray player

look at the second link thats not retail ram modules.

thats nearly the same modules ms is using (4gb 256mb). but its hard to find the exact same ones.

its TEC (336V) on the xbox one

looks custom to me

i only found H9C and PBC ones for sale...

p.s im curious, if ms can switch to higher density ddr4 ram and less chips in the future.

not sure if that would be possible and more cost efficent

Price for Xbox ram includes eSram, and eSram is expensive, so it doesn't semm too high.

no thats wrong. esram is on die ram

its in the cpu / gpu costs

otherwise it would make no sense
