Hey people who have XBox Live please answer this: Is XBox Live worth the purchase? Is it as addictive as people claim it to be? Is it much better than PSN? Will Sony's HOME match XBox Live?

Based on there being 10 million subscribers for XBox Live. halo 3 has a online community of 1.3 million. COD 4 has an online community of 850 000. Gears of War has an online community of 750 000.  Numbers alone say it appears to be an amazing experience to play online.

Actually, COD4 surpassed Halo 3, with 1.4 million users daily online.

Either way, the pay-for, and free experiences are still the litmus test of what Console Online content should be.

The BIG thing with live (from my perspective) is that the content is virtually unmatched: Live gets more online content in a week than PSN and Wii Channels get in a month.

Another big thing is that the content, although mixed many weeks, has built itself up as such a huge behemoth, that you can litterally log onto Live, and play video game demos and trials for MONTHS without paying a dime - there are OVER 300 FREE GAMES on Live Demos and Arcade Trials (as well as free games) - some demos are 10 minutes, some 1hr. I know there are a few people that litterally don't buy games for their 360's due to the $5-10 Arcade title quality, and the free demos. Live gets everything first, best, and great. Although the network can be clogged at times, it's very fast many of the times I've been on, and have been able to download 1.5GB demos in just 15 minutes.

So yes, even the FREE stuff is top-notch. The pay-for stuff is excellent, since Microsoft has been the one of the "big 3" to really care about online content. Thats not saying Wii and PSN stuff is bad, it's just that Microsoft has thousands of piece of content versus the Wii and PSN's hundreds.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
