Yeah, but then the argument can be made that there are even more iconic characters than that who didn't make it in. No Pacman, No Megaman, no one from Final Fantasy, no one from Castlevania, no one from GTA, there's Rachet but no Jak, Crash but no Spyro, the list could go on forever.
Let's just accept that there's basically 15 characters and 5 jokes, chosen by actual VGC users, and be done with it. It clearly illustrates how NOT serious these elimination games are meant to be taken.
