All the good aspects of the battle system seem to be related to what Nomura have planned. Every thing related to Tabata sounds like a downgrade. What is the reason for auto-selection of weapons, why can't the player choose which weapon to use? It that too "harcore" or something? Everything else sounds GREAT, but why sacrifice even more great aspects? Because the man is "not getting any younger"? 

You can't say for sure that this whole thing of "one-button" or this auto-selection wasn't there from the beginning. We don't even know how that works, everything about this game's battle system is a mystery, regardless of the videos and the descriptions. Tabata gives the impression that he really cares about the franchise, and wants to deliver a great game. He sounds really confident, and of course his opinion is partial, but having a demo is a good sign, for example.

Not to mention, Tabata's Crisis Core is a great game. And most people enjoy Type-0, though I haven't played it. And FF has never had a bad battle system really. I'm extremely curious... but optmistic.
