Umm, the IS movement was a large part of the anti-government forces in Syria, bombing the IS forces is helping the Assad regime, not hurting them. Assad is from the Alawite religious sect that is aligned with the shi'ites, whereas ISIL (and the Saudi's) are Sunni, hence their hatred of Assad and the Syrian government. 

 

Yeah but we are aiding the "Good" rebels so eventually Assad is gonna be pushed out by stronger forces.

Wether they're good or not will have to be proven if they eventually take power.

 

I hear a lot of people here claim that we're doing the Saudi's work for them. That's not exactly the case here. Instead, we are in fact doing Assad's work for him. See, a lot of the people that make up ISIS were once in Syrian prisons. Whenever the situation called for it, the government would simply set these people free. When the free Syria protests started, Assad had all these people set free and let them go wherever they wanted. The intent was to poison the freedom movement and make it look like these freedom fighters were terrorists. The problem is these former prisoners became so powerful that the Syrian government could do anything about it. It was like a viral outbreak that was spreading quickly and could not be contained. ISIS spread throuhout Syria and into Iraq. By this point, the freedom fighters in Syria posed very little of a threat when compared to ISIS. Assad is more than willing to let us into Syria in order to clean up the mess that he himself started. As for the aftermath? When happens when there's no ISIS but just freedom fighters and US drones on Syrain soil? I'm sure he's thinking about that right now.
