The thing I have to give MS props for is giving Insomniac a good deal of creative freedom, something that EA failed to do for them, and a crappy game was the result.
I'm sure the it's a game I will miss and there will be a bit of console envy. But I'm not sure it will convince too many people to buy Xb one if they are invested in several playstation franchises. There aren't that many Insomniac fans who will follow the studio to whatever platform they go. So Insomniac's main challenge is to appeal to the xbox core who have never had a playstation and do not know or particularly care about Insomniac's pedigree on PS. And in that respect I wonder if the xbox core has much interest in this style of game. Does xbox have a history with games like this?
Not sure where people think 1-3 million in sales is going to come from. We're talking a pretty low cost install base as a starting point and one that is not going to skyrocket during this game's principle selling period, which will probably end in the new year. Based on the most optimistic projections Xb one may have 10 million install base by the time SO finishes selling in any substantial numbers. I can't see this game having more than a 10% attach rate at that point in time.
