You get really pissed off over this "8th gen sucks" argument you know. I picked the ps1 gen because all the games in the "top 10 best of generation" lists came out in 96 or later. You could argue the jump to 3D maintained the "wow factor" until the great games actually came out, sure. But my point here are the GAMES themselves.
Hell, the PS2 had a pretty mediocre launch lineup, and was only selling because it was a dvd player at first. Games also took a little while to appear there. I digress.
