If you're a newbie to the DW franchise (as I am) it completely overwhelms you with concepts and tasks. You're still trying to figure out the controls, and meanwhile the game yells at you to do 3 things at once, minimum. It doesn't give you any idea of the priorities though, and as a result I had a constant feeling of doing it wrong. Not willing to give up I played some more battles and read some tutorials, and now I'm starting to get the hang of it. Also the default Zelda mode controls are not ideal I think, but you can change them (I didn't like the triggers setup). So now I'm looking forward to playing it! Music and cutscenes are impressive, and once I accepted that it's not a full Zelda game (not trying to be either) it becomes fun. The familiar settings and characters / enemies still give it a strong Zelda feel - it's like you get to play the battle / war parts of a Zelda story that you'd normally just hear about in an opening cutscene. |
I had some trouble with the triggers, also, at least during the demo I played. Glad to hear they're customizable.
