I think the combat will be a combination of FF12, KH and FF13:LR. There will be a FF12 like gambit system where you can set general context based commands for your different party members that you can simply mix and match based on which party members you have on the team. Things like, cast haste at start of battle> cast cure when HP below 20%> cast protect when enemy physical attack deals greater than 40% damage...etc but will be much deeper than what was in FF12. And I think it will take some of KH combat elements where you can perform context based team attacks with your party members and group limit attacks. A system like above is pretty much the only way to effectively have realtime combat that isn't ATB based and menu heavy. |
Yes, that definitely sounds more like it. What I hated about XII ( beside everything ) that it was to automated, XV has some elements of that but it is still real-time battle system that includes interaction with the environment and fast thinking. Instead keep pressing the button now you only have to hold it.
