Ok, lately many of you have been talking a lot, I mean, A LOT of Danganronpa, and I'm getting curious. Is it good? Like Zero Escape or something?

It's fantastic and much better than VLR.

I'm a huge fan of both Danganronpa and Zero Escape, and I don't think one is really better than the other. They're similar, but different, and each game has its own strengths and weaknesses. Danganronpa is basically Zero Escape with trials instead of puzzles and a bit of social links between characters, I bought it after a website described it as "Zero Escape X Ace Attorney X Persona"... Danganronpa has a more dynamic gameplay, but the puzzles in Zero Escape are usually harder, and the "who dunnit" are good in each game. Danganronpa is more organized with a pattern "Motive - Murder - Trial" and a single ending, Zero Escape can really become messed up quickly with its multiples endings.

For me, the best ending is clearly the 999 one (Zero Escape 1 on DS, this ending is insane), the most "WTF !" endings are VLR and DR2 ones (they're really similar !), the best castings in VLR and DR2 too (Phi or Chiaki, hard to choose...). For the best villain... Monokuma is awesome, but Zero in 999 is also great in his own way. You also have the "999 - Nine Coins, Nine Purses, Nine Bears" trophy in Danganronpa 1, a "Zero Escape like" gameplay phase in Danganronpa 2, and both Zero III and Monokuma make bad puns about their animal type (rabbit and bear), huge similarity here :D

So both Zero Escape and Danganronpa are awesome games, and if you like one of them you should play the others, including 999 on DS (before VLR if possible, and DR1 before DR2 of course).

EDIT : And apparently, the platinum trophy for Danganronpa 2 is named "Hope's Last Reward". I need to get that...
