If Wii U development was stalled when the team was sent off months before release to the other divisions to help speed up their development, and the Wii U version is schedule to release a similar number of months after they resumed development, it's posible that the Wii U version may have actually been ready at the scheduled time.

Close to it but maybe with a lot more bugs and errors, the development was halted for 5 months, the game is releasing 6 months later, and does not have additional support from additional members of other team, so the time difference is closer to 2 months than just 1, without that extra time the game could have been finished but with less QA time, which usually means worse framerate (to whatever they have achieved here, we don't if it is good or not), more bugs, and less polish in general.
