By being quite close development tools (we had reports that it took some weeks to few months with a small team to port over) I don't think they would have trouble recovering dev cost even with low sale, PS4 still have small number of games battling for attention that on a 10M userbase they could sell more than 100k.
And since I don't go on their forum I don't know the interest people showed them... But here in VGC PS4 fans say they didn't want, but maybe that was just butthurtdiness or really no interest, I can only speak for myself.
