Is it really that hard for Namco to release Tales of on both Xbox and PS? I mean it's not like they're a small publisher or anything so I don't see the problem here *rolls eyes at Namco and Tales of team*

Don't be too hard on them. The Tales Studio was actually once a big team (I think they had 2 teams then). They envisioned themselves to be like Square Soft and that Tales could be like FF. That's why they had Tales on the 360, Wii, PSP and DS at the beginning of the previous generation, all different titles but most of them didn't hit the sales number.

The one that hurt them the most was Tales of Hearts for the DS when (for some unknown reason) they created 2 versions of the game with a budget of a console Triple AAA game.

The studio almost (or did) went to bankruptcy back in 2011, if I'm not mistaken and then they released Tales of Xillia on the PS3 in Japan and saw better western sales from Tales of Graces F the following year. So they started playing safe since then.

Tales had two main teams working on the games, but since the studio was absorbed by Namco, it became one big team.

They didn't put the Tales on different platforms to be like FF. I'm not sure where you got that from. They were really just testing the markets, and with Vesperia they got an incentive from MS. In the end they realized that despite the PS3's initial lukewarm sales, the main Tales fanbase was there.

Also, on the bankruptcy, it was actually misreported.

Yeah MS was the publisher of ToV in the west, so I guess they got money hatted on that. lol!

Are youy sure about the bankruptcy thing? I think Tales Studio wasn't 100% owned by Bamco before they encountered money issues and was absorbed because of that. Kinda like what happened to Atlus with Sega or something close to that.
