PS4 holds little weight in Sony general well being (as PS3 held little weight on Sony loss in general).

No... that had a lot of weight. 6$ billion is not a small amount.

When you are losing U$5B a year (confirmed and audited) the assumed 6B (that have been quite recovered) isn't of great weight.

Profits of gaming division in Billion of Yens

2004 67.6

2005 43

2006 8.7 (Profits from PS2 eaten by PS3 R&D and Launch)

2007 -232

2008 -124.5

2009 -58.5

2010 -83.3 (Game merged in Network Product & Services) - Vaio loses are put together

2011 35.6 (Game merged in Network Product & Services) - Vaio loses are put together.... or 48.5 if considered alone

2012 -229.8 (CPS) - TV and Vaio loses make harder to view.... or 29.3 if considered alone

2013 1.7 (Won't use in the sum because PS4 dev cost and else is lumped here... 15% less revenue than 2012 but a lot worse profit)

2014 -8 (A lot of the loss due to PS4 launching and R&D... 15% more revenue than 2012 but resulting in loss)

So summing 2007 -2012 which would be the core of PS3 would result -420 B Yen, more or less 4B dollars. And if you see PS2 were doing like 0,5B a year... so Playstation doesn't make much money for Sony even when selling a lot, and when they were dumping Sony financials it was 10% of the impact, TV, Vaio and Phones do a lot worst job on Sony financials when they go bad.
