I did try Mass effect and quit really soon, all that dialogue turns me off, even more because I had to choose what to say from 3 or 4 options that usually didn't had nothing of worth for the quetions I had in my mind at that moment. All this, talk to several people to gather knowledge to advance its the thing that put me off of RPGs is the early years of my long gaming carrier but now I am playing some games with RPG elements and I find the collective part and evolution of the characters to be addictive and worth exploring, but extensive dialogues should be avoided. Hope this could be my first FF. |
Well, FF games are always heavy on the story. And there are usually a ton of sub plots. And there is also a ton of dialouge. But there is also a ton of character building too.
If i recall, the Mass effect like dialouge tree was or has been used in only one FF game and that was even for a secret boss type thing (I think it was in FF8 or it had something to do with something called thunder plains).
Other than that, think about the dialouge hunt and talk to everyone you can thing as a way to get hints and info on where to go and what is what. It could be the difference between you beating a secret/rare boss or breaking your controller in frustration.
The second you find that a boss is only weak to a health potion and invulnerable to everything else in your arsenal simply cause you talked to some random kid by a pond.... trust me, you will go seeking out everything to talk to... including plants.
