Can't be... just in launch PS2 sold 300k more than PS4 in Japan (like 600k total)... so just that if put 3x would mean PS4 sold 1.8M (aligned sales) in Asia, plus the following months... the sum with NA and Europe would have already crossed 10M for a long time...
Haven't PS2 reached 3.5M in the first 9M in Japan??? 3x would be 10.5M and that is what PS4 sold WW not just Asia.
