This is my major gripe with Kaz and the rest of Sony's executive board. I just don't see any sense of immediacy from them and it's hurting the company. They should've done away with PC and TV a long time ago. Heck, they haven't really gotten rid of their TV business which continues to struggle. Same goes for their smartphones. It wasn't until now that their phones will be supported by Sprint and Verizon. That is something that should've been done way earlier because otherwise, they wouldn've have lost as much money as they did now. |
I don't want them to get rid of their TV or phones (I only buy then and like) but they seriously need to make it profitable, even if they just concentrate on real expensive products, with limited models and sales, or if they make Bravia top brand and just make all lower end elsewhere just using their quality standard (they tried it in China and decided to stop as the chinese had robbed most of the technology they got their hands on - in the case of tv). Their camera, they could just focus on digital cheap cameras (I don't care about them) and forget about alpha and their top products, they are reallllllly bellow Canon and Nikon and their slight cheaper price don't make for it... But that is just me as a happy consumer of their product... they as bussinessmen must decide how to certainly make it profitable or dump it in the lass wastefull way, and fast.
