I've been thinking... For England, war isn't even an option. In the modern era they'd be condemned like crazy. Sanctions would be everywhere; war can't even be considered. Go back even 50 years and England could stomp this out without anyone batting an eyelash. Then again, they did let Ireland walk away 90 years ago, with little fighting, when they could forcefully have put a stop to it -- so maybe they don't care too much. It's interesting to see how much things have changed in only decades.
