Demons Souls had stuff that Dark Souls lacked entirely or just didnt got right, (at least not as good as DeS), Like the atmosphere, and the battle speed or character speed was actually a little faster in DeS, (and maybe thats why the combat in Bloodborne is even faster than any of the souls games).
those and other aspects made DeS a very different game than DaS and Miyazaki already said before that he is basing this game on DeS instead of DaS.
