Errrrr... the price on PSN store is set by the publisher... as is the discounts on PSN and PS+... on the PS+ case Sony enter to have a subsizing fee for the discount to take place, anything else is dictated by the publisher (same case in PSNow). |
Errr... yeah, that's what an RRP is. My meaning is that the PS store shouldn't just be a front for Publishers to rip consumers off. With PS Store prices match RRP at time of release but they match the same as shop prices, sometimes more because of high street competition. Destiny for example, you can get it online now for £35 to £40 for PS4, on PS Store it's £55 on PS4. Yet, there isn't the store commision, there isn't packaging to pay for and as a consumer you can't 'take it back/trade it'. A lot more profit.
What PS Store should be is like any other high street store, and they should inviting other high street and internet stores to have the same functionality on the PS4 with shops that compete, with discounts and things.
Publisher may set the RRP for the PS and Live store but when it comes to online and highstreet retails their RRP is instantly reduced to be competative.
Hmm, pie.
