Nice breakdown of Accounting principles! Haven't talked about GAAP since my early college years. I still think "long term" it was a smart move especially since they are still going to release/maintain MC over all platforms, it will pay for itself (or pretty damn close) over the years. Apparently they have been in dicussions over this acquisition since 2012 and think there could have been far worse acquired than the phenom called Minecraft though I don't think Mojang really has anything else to offer, do they?
