Microsoft Won't Make $2.5 Billion On Minecraft This Year

Considering the repatriation tax rate is apparently 35% - that means that if MSFT had brought back $2.5billion, they would have paid $875million in TAX. So rather (over)spend on a product.

Have to say that even at $1.625billion for Minecraft its way too much.
