I think what baffles me about the large 2.5B number is that it sure seems like notch wanted out based on his letter.  You'd figure MS would have been able to offer him a much smaller sum of money in order to put him over the edge.. was anyone else competing for the Minecraft franchise?

Either that or the letter is pure lip service after the fact... "it wasn't about the money" my ass, haha.
