Why is the American government/ Empire so keen on war all the time?

Now, this doesn't mean you can just go in, guns a blazing, kill stuff and think that will solve the problem either, but action is needed. Thoughtful action.

However, 9/11 only happened because of American intervention in the first place. If there was no intervention the U.S would not be a target, or at least not as big of a target as it is now. Preventative warfare is only necessary for states that get into everybody's business in the first place. 

well that is the official story most people go along with anyway

they don't consider that osama bin laden did not claim responsibility for the event

and also the mountain of evidence that the buildings weren't brought down by the planes which were flown into them
