And storywise it isn't even comparable. Any GOW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bayonetta in that regard. Characterisation is subjective, but Kratos has enough reason to be as pissed as he is. I guess its something only mature people can understand.
Enemy design in Bayonetta is indeed more original, but original =/= better. GOW's Greek mythology based enemy design is just way more inspired.
