Buying 3rd party franchise exclusivity was an unfortunate move from PR side o view. Having so much financial resources MS should invest a lot more in its own first party developers and push lots of great new IPs to the market.
That would be only way to compete with PS4. If they successfully did that, they could maybe achieve sales parity with PS4 in the long run. Otherwise this generation will remain one horse race.
