You're looking at it from a point of view from the way things are now. Im looking at it from a point of view with the way things will be in 20 years time.

The internet will get a lot faster you know .

And when it does it will cost a lot less to deliever you a service that can stream games on a smart device that  will look much better then any dedicated device would be able to do think about that. as an example instead of sony devs only being able to use the power of 1 ps4, they will be able to use the power of 5,10 or even a 100 PS4's streaming the game to any smart device that has a sub to PSNow, and if you think the internet will never be fast enough for that i just dont know what to say -_- . so as you see it doest really matter about how powerful the hardware is ..


fast internet already exists now. The problem is not all countries value internet speed. Here they are rolling out fibre network (which was meant to be completed years ago), taken 6 years so far and the best you can get is 100mbit if you willing to pay lots of $$$$ a month for it.

So unless some internationa body mandates internet must be X speed to the house by 2020 or your country is cut off from the world internet then no country is going to be in a rush to roll out affordable internet just to satisfy gamers.
