Never and 2 reasons for that. With the current business model for streaming services, streaming will never be a fully viable alternative to dedicated hardware. Secondly, smart devices might get a lot stronger, but the top of the top of smart devices has recently just reached the graphic prowess of the Xbox 360 and PS3. so they are a long way behind the current gen conseles. by the time they caught up, console hardware will have evolved much further again.

So no, subscription based streaming services wont fully replace dedicated hardware with digital/retail releases.

You're looking at it from a point of view from the way things are now. Im looking at it from a point of view with the way things will be in 20 years time.

The internet will get a lot faster you know .

And when it does it will cost a lot less to deliever you a service that can stream games on a smart device that  will look much better then any dedicated device would be able to do think about that. as an example instead of sony devs only being able to use the power of 1 ps4, they will be able to use the power of 5,10 or even a 100 PS4's streaming the game to any smart device that has a sub to PSNow, and if you think the internet will never be fast enough for that i just dont know what to say -_- . so as you see it doest really matter about how powerful the hardware is ..

Of course the internet will get faster. But as soon gaming becomes a dubscription based streaming service, I'm out. I only need to point at PS Now. I want to be able to buy the games I want, do with them whatever I want, whenever. And if one smartass sends a DDos attack, no-one would be able to play their games. I'm more than ok with digital, but streaming is only viable in a few ways. Also, if servers are shut down, the game is gone...
