No, you don't understand. Microsoft has just made Windows Phone the place to one of the most popular mobile games ever. Not only that, but they have secured a game that has ingrained itself on nine different platforms. That in itself is a boon, and the influence that comes with it is certainly worth a lot of money. Whether or not it is $2.5 billion worth of money is yet to be seen.

So you expect them to pull the game from iOS and Android and make it a Windows Phone exclusive? That's just going to cripple the game's install base and lose out on a ton of revenue. People are not going to buy a phone just to play Minecraft.

And where in the world did I say that? I said that it would be the place to play one of the most popular mobile games, i.e the Windows platform would be the definitive version. They would be downright stupid to remove it from other platforms, but they can give extra incentives to Windows users (faster updates, exclusive content, etc).
