I prefer scholar by far. In easier fights I can go full dps and let pet do most healing. As sch I tend to stand closer to the tank for the pet to reach.
As whm I don't like running out of magic and sort of are depending on bards for mana regen.
In raids it's best to have both as they have slightly different roles. Sch is buff and heal for tank, whm is heal
For solo play I switch scholar to Summoner (dps class)
All in all both sch and whm are great.
