FF 14: White Mage or Scholar?

I can't really compare, I only play Scholar when I play healer.

It's fun to play and a bit difficult, with a lot of skills if you want to control your pet manually (it's better that way). I don't have any issue in dungeons or solo (except when my ilvl is too low, of course). Even if you're not careful enough, your pet can save an ally, which can be really useful.

In solo or in low level dungeons, you can also let your pet do the healing part of your job, and focus on dealing damage. The scholar mostly deal damage with DoT skills.

For the healing skills... Scholar's healing skills are less powerful than white mage's ones, but if you heal 1000 HP, the next 1000 HP damages will be absorbed too. In that case, I think the white mage would heal 2000 HP, and that's it. So the scholar can prevent damage, but the white mage can heal faster. One or the other will be better depending on the fight.

I think the scholar is better for long fights, because of one skill (Aetherflow) restoring your MP. But I'll let a white mage confirm or deny that !
