Mobile gaming catching up to consoles?

That's the problem isnt't it.  You assume that console gamers only buy them to play games?  Why is the most popular feature of any console Netflix?  It is quite obvious nowadays, that people buy devices and expect them to be swiss army knives.  They want to buy 1 device and get rid of 3 others.  

Back to your point, how many are buying for games?  PRobably not many.  How many are gaming on their phones?  Almost all of them...

Console gamers buy a console mainly because they have games that's they interest them if they don't like a numbers of games they would not buy a console even if you offer them a lot of multimedia functionnality,if multimedia functionnality so why ps4 is outselling x1 and why ds and 3ds some more then psp and vita.

People buy consoles because they have a lot games that they interest them and use multimedia functionnality because they already have a console and people buy a smartphone because it can talk with it and buy games because they already have a smartphones.

 

But, if the smartphone that they HAVE to buy to talk on anyway can play games similar enough to consoles, why do they need to buy consoles?  

The PS4 is outselling the XB1 for almost a whole year now.  It isn't just because of the games that are on it now, it's because of the games that are coming too.  If M$ hadn't screwed their announcement up and hadn't released a console priced $100 more than the competition, they wouldn't be being beat down so bad.  Would they be at PS4 levels?  No, but if they had sold 3 million more and the PS4 3 million less, it would have been a lot less to talk about.  With the power gap, the PS4 was destined to have a lead in sales to the core buyers.  But, when you combine all the PR and pricing problems and the power too, even the casuals are easily swayed to go PS4.

Point being, if people realized that their smartphone could really produce impressive games that lasted more than 10-15 minutes, they might see it as a console replacement some day.

Better controls and better graphics are the main point why people buy a consoles even if they have a smartphone.

You said it by yourself people buy mainly the console because of the games then it come the price and marketing then it come multimedia ,if you have a consoles with good multimedia functions but don't have enough games that interest people i's not true for smartphones

 

Even if smartphone has impressive  games consoles have even more impressive games so peoples who really like video games will always buy a consoles
