Note: *GIven that the PS4 version will likely improve less (gameplay-wise) over the PS3 version than a remake would and the two versions will release simultaneously, I think it's fair in this case to lump the slaes of the two together.

The MegaTen series has been fairly active for a very long time (~27 years, to be exact), but none hav ebeen wildly successful. If we're not counting remakes (i.e P4G, P3P), the best-selling SMT game is the original Persona 4, which is listed at 820K here. None have cracked a million.

SMT games, especially Persona games, have a very passionate and outspoken fanbase of core gamers, and it's very likely that a lot of other people have heard of SMT and Persona through word-of-mouth. P4 likely eked out a lot extra sales due to hype, but held by launching on the already dated PS2. Now that an original Persona game is launching on the new and popular PS4 (esp. in NA +EU), there's a chance that a lot more people will jump in. This added to the fact that JRPGs are VERY scarce on the PS4 and should continue to be so in the near future.

What do you think? Will P5 outsell P4, maybe even a million? Will it fall short of this goal? Or it will not even come close?
