And how likely is that to happen? I personally wouldnt hold my breath on that, which was my point to the other guy. Not going to lie i have bought a few graphic novels digtally, only cause they were cheaper, arent options great? |
I think it is as long as the commission is still present (so they get money anyway) why should they care? Normal disc based sales include console commission, it's no different. Main console shops would obviously make more money as they are direct and for both retailers they can reduce the cost due to lack of packaging. The reason why a current single shop system fails is that there's no competition on console so they can fix prices (even sales are 'fixed') evne then the prices are the same or more than high street retailers.
Let's put it this way, the largest UK retailer in the UK is GAME, I prefer to buy from them if I can because I can get points on my reward card. If GAME did a shop on PS4/Xbone, I would look into using them more because of the reward scheme, as long as the prices were competitive. PS Store/XBL would then compete and do deals to entice me to buy from them instead.
And yes options are great, we have the freedom to choose why type of medium we purchase our content, and here's to it remaining that way.
Hmm, pie.
