I didn't really follow this and don't get it. It seems to me that it's always about something else...
Ethics in gaming journalism, "Social Justice Warriors", misogyny, sexism, racism, clichés about "gamers", etc.
The situation reminds me of the childish YouTube haters that try to "expose" others they don't agree with.
