Do we? I mean if that's the case it's not as bad, still don't like it though. 

Well, if they go through all the trouble to create a new character, they very well can't just keep him restricted to customers who aren't even paying for him. He will be a DLC character.  If not day one, then quite soon after release.  I'm just glad there's an option for me to get him for free. Risk free.
