Why do "some" religious groups not accept Same Sex relations, but have no problems with Inter- racial relations?

I've noticed a lot of atheists tend to base reglion from the people who follow it instead of what the religion actually promotes. From there, they formulate their own conclusions, and this is very sad. We're living in a world where ignorance is encouraged.

Do you follow what the religion promotes? I.e., do you abstain from eating shellfish or wearing clothing made of two different kinds of thread? I've noticed a lot of religious people pick pieces of their religion, especially the hateful parts, but don't actually embrace what their own texts say.

Do you understand its context and principle for its time?
