1. The crusades, the medieval era, and the other horrible things that so called "Christians" have done in the past does not speak to what true Christianity is. Just because people claim to be Christians does not mean they are (many are cultural Christians). If someone truly accepts Christ it changes their perspective on everything and they begin a journey of leaving their past behind. Christ loved his enemies. He would not have made sexual sinners be tortured to death like they were in the medieval era. He would not have embraced the corruption of the the Catholic church in medieval/renassaince age. He would not have supported the concept of killing muslims in Crusades. Why do you think you don't see Christians defending themselves against Muslims in the middle East now days? They are just getting slaughtered everywhere (mainly in Syria, Iraq, and Egypt over the last year or two). It's because Christians, as a whole, are trying to follow Christ's lead and that includes "turning the cheek."

A lot of those "good things" that you pointed out that we have accomplished have come at the cost of some things that aren't good. Yea we've dealt with a lot of diseases but mainly if they impact us alone. You think the U.S. wouldn't help out more with some of the diseases in Africa if they were to break out in the U.S? Polio is a great example. A lot of newer technology is coming at the cost of, pretty much, slavery in middle Africa with people looking for minerals for these big corporate companies.

2. It's called prophesy. Just because God doesn't appear to be preventing attacks (in your eyes) now doesn't mean HE isn't and doesn't mean HE won't intervene eventually (look at the book of Revelation, for example). HE often let's humans make bad decisions on our own (because HE loves us and wants us to freely choose to love and follow HIM back). Think about it as a dad. Would you want to force your kids to do everything you want them to do and force them to love you and respect you as their father or would you prefer they chose to love you and chose to follow you and chose to believe that you have a better path than that of their own mind? God desires us to love HIM and HE already us. HE isn't just sitting there. HE is pleading with us to turn away from our sinful ways and turn to HIM but HE isn't going to force someone to accept Christ as their savior.

1. No True Scotsman fallacy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_true_Scotsman

There is no such thing as a "true" Christian. People who believe in Jesus Christ come in many forms, which is why there are many denominations in Christianity (same as every religion really). The people in the Crusades were certainly Christians, even if you don't agree with their actions.

Those Christians in the Middle East are getting slaughtered because, while many might not want to fight back, they're also the minority in Muslim-dominated regions...

There should be no doubt whatsoever that all those good things have created a net positive for the world than a negative. Cures, faster travel, and instant communication greatly helps in saving lives. Regarding "slavery", some of those workers are treated like dirt unfortunately, but others may not be able to find jobs otherwise. Regardless, do you really want to live in a world with less cures, no cars, no planes, no phones, no internet, crappy education, etc.? I'd be surprised if you agree.

2. Going by many wars, there seems to be more negatives than positives, and many innocents die (including Christians). Why does God not want to save them? Does he only help specific people? Why? Chances are if someone came at you, and shot you squarely in the head, you're going to die no matter who you are and no matter how strong your faith is.

I'm not going to get into schematics with this, but I'm going to make this very simple by saying you are either a Christian or you are not.  I have a saving relationship with Christ because he is my Savior.  Everyone needs him because everyone is sinful, and the debt for sin is spiritual death.  Besides me paying for my debt to sin which is impossible because of how deep it is, He payed for it instead.  And through His grace, I recognized this by excepting his GIFT of salvation therefore I'm debt free.  And I'm going to physically die one day, and it doesn't matter how I go.  I will live every day the best I can (admittedly spirutually imperfect because of sin) as a testamony of God's grace, knowing that I have spritual life for all eternity.  This is awesome sauce, and I want the same for all because it's a joy I've already tasted and continue to feel that is greater than anything physical the world can offer.  I will physically die but I will spiritually live forever.  God has already saved me through Jesus' sacrifice.  This is the Gospel, and it's VERY applicable to everyday life on this earth regardless of life style and any time period in history.
