I wish to create a list of games, spanning as broad a collection of genres and alternative takes as possible. This seems like a place where people will have a lot of fun with the concept so here goes.
In addition to the following games, what games with very good mainstream success would be good benchmarks to look at with regards to successful competitive play?
Current list:
Pokemon
Halo 2
Smash Bros - Melee
FIFA 2010 (think that is the right one)
Street Fighter
Team Fortress 2
DOTA
League of Legends
Starcraft 2
Persona 4: Areana
Counter Strike
Smite
Tekken
(My thoughts also suggest that Magic the Gathering deserves a pseudo-spot.)
