I don't think region locking has ever affected me. I've never imported a game from Japan nor would I ever considering most Japanese games are RPGs which are very often dialogue-heavy. That pretty much gives them a language 'lock'. For those who can read Japanese, I do hope they speak with their wallets and buy a Vita.

There have been periods in which American Ninty gamers were begging Ninty to release in US games already released not only in Japan, but also in EU: region-free would have granted their wishes without having to wait for Ninty to stop turning a deaf ear to them. And EU versions always include English ones (btw the real stuff, with all its ues not amputated from words and all its esses not turned into zeds by some crazy Zorro passing by   )
