I can actually understand parity clause, kind of. But I can't understand region locking. A sale is a sale right? So who cares if I buy a game in the USA to bring back home? Everyone still gets their money, well except for the retailer back here, but since when has that mattered?

Yes a sale is a sale. But said foregin distro company goes out of business. That's why region locking exsists. To protect their jobs. It fucks everyone else. A perfect world would be say Toei releases dual audio and subtitle sets of Dragonball Z to US and JPN. Funimation doesn't exist and they don't have to license it out. I never understand why they don't do this hoenstly. It saves the company money dealing with other entities. But they do lose licensing fees.

But their's one bad side to this. Take Disney. They are the worst company when it comes to releasing stuff. They refuse to release half of Marvel and their own shows on DVD, for example. But other foreign markets do do it. So I did buy them from those places. That wouldn't of happend if Disney controlled it all.
