And it can be overclocked, which neither the i3 or the cheapest i5 can. More and more games are being coded to make use of 8 cores now, largely thanks to PS4 and Xbox One. Might just use one of these in my next build. |
You are pretty close to 100% correct. I have been around all of these processors and I find that when all cores are utilized it goes i5 < FX-83xx < i7, and rest assured that all future AAA games WILL utilize all 8 cores well.
