No, "indie" is not a all encompassing indicator of quality, but the fact remains that the VAST majority of indie games are pure and utter shit. There are a few gems, but let's not pretend that indie games should be seen in the same light as retail games. As of now, there are dozens of indie games released each week and most will never take off.
