There is no real evidence that X360 users are moving to PS4 in any numbers of significant. People keep saying this as if its fact. The ONE poll out there simply asked what consoles the people had RIGHT NOW. They would say X360 or Wii and then a PS4. In this case.. ONLY 33% of that group had a WIi or X360 next to there PS4. so THEN .. then number was thrown out that 33% of PS4 users never came from X360 or Wii.. But the poll NEVER asked if they had sold their PS3 when they bought their PS4. So that number could be FAR FAR less. And the 33% figure included WIi users.. So again. There is no real proof that X360 users of any signifcant amount now own PS4's.
On topic.. 50% penetration with PS Plus is a little lower then I expected with moving to require it for ONLINE play. I would figure that EARLY adopters of the PS4 would be bigtime gamers and more likely play online (and want free games) and or already had PS Plus for their PS3/Vita. I already had PS Plus when I bought my PS4. Just surpisingly low in my eyes.. |
The poll was legit, you can downplay it as much as you want. I believe those numbers, and there will be more of those ex 360 and Wii users buying the superior console offering the best and widest variety games available. It is just common sense and those people will be making a prudent and sensible purchase decision, as will be evident in the coming months.
We will see when, if ever, MS dares to release their figures where their users are. Many people switched consoles due to numerous reasons.
