But compared to the rest of the world its kind of a niche market.

Which is why Sony and MS don't bother catering to Japan. Most console games considered popular in Japan struggle to sell a million units there or even 500k.

Compared to western Europe and US, its a niche market. Compared to anything else, it's a massive market
