Cant we all just appreciate each console just for 1 day?

c'mon the name alone is awesome..just say it. say it long so it lingers on the tongue and do it in a culturally insulting french accent.. ooooouuuyyyyaaaa le oooouuuyaa mon petite..that alone makes it worth loving ;). Seriously tho if everyone appreciated the consoles and games for what they were then we'd all discover that we are all gamers and that for better or worse we are all alike. Then that would end the silly console tribal mentality and we'd all unite under one banner, a banner of gamers, and that would be bad for competition and ultimately the bottom line. Not everyone is rich, not everyone can afford them all and since some people cannot choose both they must justify their choice by over praising their choice and demonizing the one they did not choose. Otherwise they would feel they made a huge regret, and no one really wants any regrets in life. Also life is rough for most people. The console wars offer a good distraction from the grim realities of life, that and it gives them something to fight for, something that likely won't end in death and destruction. Just like with sports teams and sporting events. Some people simply just need something to fight for, and something to hate.
