Gears of War is the standard for TPS games and good reason for that with both great story and top-quality gameplay so of course it will be compared to what EPIC has done with the TPS genre.  Just like kart racers will be compared to Mario Kart or platformers will be compared to Mario, its not much different.

Either way im interested in this game still.  Not blown away by it because im not a fan of the setting, but i hope it does well at least in the story department.  If its story is good im not too worried about the gameplay as i think it looks fun enough.

That's like saying Fallout and CoD should play the same because they're both FPS.  They do not and they should not.  As soon as we start expecting games to play the same simply because they use the same perspective, then gaming will become hollow.  Just ask many older fans of Resident Evil.
